Sometimes you hear a couple’s “how we met” story and think, okay, this was clearly meant to be. Carmen and Tristan met at ETSU, but Tristan didn’t exactly need an introduction before deciding Carmen was the girl for him. One day, he was sitting in the cafeteria with his best man, Logan, when Carmen walked into the room. Tristan had never met her, didn’t know her name, and yet somehow looked at Logan and said, “I’m going to marry that girl.” UMM… full body chills! Fast forward to June 13, 2026, and Tristan was standing at St. John Neumann Catholic Church watching that exact girl walk down the aisle toward him. Safe to say, he called it from the very beginning.

One of the sweetest things about Carmen and Tristan’s wedding day was just how thoughtful Tristan was toward Carmen every step of the way. From helping her hold her dress down the stairs after their first kiss so she could make her way down the aisle for the recessional, to making sure she had a fan blowing on her during portraits, he was constantly checking in to make sure she was comfortable and doing okay. It was never anything big or showy—just a million little moments that made it so obvious how much he loves taking care of her. And honestly, those little things are some of our favorite moments to photograph because they say so much about a couple without either person having to say a word.

Once everyone made their way to The Julianna in Knoxville, it was time to celebrate—and Carmen made sure her New Orleans roots were part of the party! One of the first NOLA traditions they incorporated was the cake pull. After the wedding cake was cut, Carmen gathered her bridesmaids around the cake and each one pulled a ribbon attached to a small silver charm tucked into the bottom tier. Each charm represented a little fortune or prediction for the future, making this sweet tradition both fun and sentimental.

If I had to use one word to describe Carmen and Tristan’s reception, it would be LIVELY. The dance floor was full, the energy was high, and their guests clearly came ready to celebrate these two. But the grand finale might have been our favorite part of the entire night. Before their last dance and special exit, Carmen and Tristan led their guests through The Julianna for a traditional New Orleans second line. Guests waved handkerchiefs and carried mini parasols, while the newlyweds led the way with custom bride and groom parasols of their own. In New Orleans culture, the second line represents the newlyweds’ journey into their new life together—and watching Carmen and Tristan lead their favorite people into the night was SUCH a fun way to bring their wedding day to a close.

From a bold “I’m going to marry that girl” prediction to a beautiful ceremony at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, a joyful celebration at The Julianna, and a New Orleans-inspired second line to end the night, Carmen and Tristan’s wedding day was full of personality, meaning, and so much joy. These two have such a sweet way of caring for each other, and it was pretty incredible to see that love surrounded by all of their favorite people.
