Ciara and Michael’s Nichols Heir wedding in Sevierville, Tennessee was the perfect spring celebration. As a Knoxville wedding photographer, we love getting to photograph weddings throughout East Tennessee, and Nichols Heir is absolutely one of our favorites venues! Ciara & Michael, along with all their family and friends, traveled all the way from Michigan to celebrate the start of their lives together in the always stunning Smoky Mountains. From emotional letters and heartfelt vows to a gorgeous reception design and a packed dance floor, Ciara and Michael’s wedding was full of thoughtful details and plenty of fun.

One of the sweetest parts of the day happened while Ciara was getting ready. Michael has written Ciara a letter every month since they started dating, and on their wedding morning, he gave her a box containing every single one. The final letter was written specifically for their wedding day. Watching Ciara open the box and read through the letters was such a special moment—and there definitely were not many dry eyes in the room. Even the Bangs and Blush team was crying! It was such a personal wedding-day gift and a really beautiful way to look back at their relationship before they officially became husband and wife.

The emotions continued throughout their wedding ceremony. Ciara’s vows were especially memorable as she shared that she never believed in soulmates until she met Michael. Needless to say, there were plenty of tears behind the camera, too! Their vows felt incredibly personal and gave everyone a glimpse into just how much they mean to each other. Moments like this are some of our favorite things to photograph because they are the little pieces of a wedding day that make the images so much more meaningful years down the road.

The reception at Nichols Heir Grand Hall was just as beautiful. Ciara and Michael created a gorgeous floor plan with their planner, Claudio & Co, that showcased a mix of long and serpentine tables, whimsical florals, and candles throughout the space. The combination made the room feel elegant without being overly formal and gave everyone plenty of space to celebrate together. During their first dance, Ciara and Michael also surprised their parents by inviting them onto the dance floor. Both sets of parents had celebrated 30 years of marriage on September 9th of the previous year, making the moment even more special. We loved that they were able to celebrate not only their own marriage, but the marriages that have made such an impact on them.

And then came the party! Ciara and her bridesmaids opened the dance floor with a surprise choreographed dance to “This Is What Dreams Are Made Of” from The Lizzie McGuire Movie, and it was every bit as fun as you would expect. It was the perfect way to kick off the reception, and the dance floor stayed busy for the rest of the night. From the sentimental moments to the fun-filled celebration, Ciara and Michael’s Grand Hall wedding was such a fun day to photograph. We’re so grateful we got to document their wedding in Sevierville and all of the little moments that made their day completely theirs.
