Lets Get

Some wedding weekends just feel extra special from the very beginning, and Jess & Harrison’s was absolutely one of them. They kicked things off with a welcome party, and they opted to add coverage to their wedding collection—which I LOVE when couples do this! Especially when we haven’t photographed an engagement session, getting to meet our couples before the wedding day is such a fun way to break the ice and calm those pre-wedding nerves. When I arrived, I immediately started looking for Jess and somehow found her twin sister first. I recruited her to help me track down the bride, and just a few minutes later, Jess popped out of the bathroom, saw me, and ran over to give me the BIGGEST hug. My eyes immediately started welling up. I was so excited that she was excited that I was there, and that same energy carried throughout their entire wedding weekend. Jess & Harrison are just two incredibly sweet people who were so genuinely grateful to be celebrating with their favorite people.

And then came wedding day at The Glass House at Nichols Heir, and WOW. This was easily one of the most gorgeous May weddings I’ve ever photographed. The weather could not have been more perfect. The sun was shining, the air was crisp, and it actually felt like spring instead of the summer-like temperatures we usually get in East Tennessee by May! It was the kind of day that made everyone want to be outside soaking it all in.

The sun stayed out almost all day, but right as Jess & Harrison’s ceremony began at the Garden, a soft overcast rolled in. And if you’ve ever been to a ceremony up there, you know how much of a gift that was! There isn’t a ton of shade, so a sunny ceremony can be VERY sunny. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect. They had the most beautiful, comfortable ceremony surrounded by their favorite people, and then—like clockwork—the sun came back out just in time for portraits.

And ohhhh my goodness, those portraits. I just can’t help but smile going back through them because LOOK at the way these two look at each other! It’s as if no one else is around—just Jess and Harrison, completely wrapped up in each other and so in love. Add in that gorgeous Nichols Heir scenery and the absolute JUICIEST sunset, and we were in absolute heaven. These sunset portraits are some of my favorites from their entire wedding day, and I cannot wait for you to see them!

More than anything, Jess & Harrison’s wedding weekend was such a beautiful celebration of their people and the life they’re building together. From that first giant hug at the welcome party to the happy tears, laughter, dancing, and all the little moments in between, there was so much genuine joy packed into these two days. Jess & Harrison, thank you for trusting us to document such an important weekend and for making us feel like part of the celebration from the very beginning. Your wedding at The Glass House at Nichols Heir was absolutely beautiful, but the love you two have for each other is what made it unforgettable.
